Fayetteville, NC Driving Tips
Rely heavily on GPS for the first few months! I learned quickly that the road signs in Fayetteville, and in North Carolina in general, are really terrible. I found it very difficult to get around. Another thing that is really hard to learn to maneuver around is the constantly changing names of some streets. It can start with one name, change in half a mile to another name, then change to yet another name in a mile, and then a 4th name in another mile or two. Also, most street names have a numbered name that locals refer to it with... it's all very confusing. USE GPS!
Fayetteville, NC Buying Tips
Great gas mileage is key if you live anywhere outside of the city. I have to drive at least 30 minutes to get to the main part of town, and 15-20 just to get to Wal-Mart.
Favorite driving memory
I don't suppose I have a favorite memory from this city yet. We have only lived here for 1 year and getting used to the new landscape was very interesting. I'm used to having mountains as a guideline, and I'm also used to living IN the city. Here, I live outside of Fayetteville, so if I ever need anything I have to go in to town.
Favorite road
Ramsey St. and Morganton Rd.. I like to drive on these 2 streets the most because they have almost everything I ever really need. If I want to go to Wal-Mart, Lowe's, the bank, Aldi, maybe get Pizza from Little Caesars, and hit up the dollar tree, I can do that all within a 2 mile stretch on Ramsey. But if I need to go to Sam's club or Hobby Lobby, the mall, or if I want to go to a bigger restaurant I have to go over to Morganton. I do like how things are clustered together onto certain streets here.

Fayetteville, NC Driving Tips
My tip is simple. Drive with caution, do not speed, run red lights, make complete stops at stop signs, and use your turn signal. If you follow these tips, you will be fine.
Fayetteville, NC Buying Tips
There are more dealerships than people in this town. Research the vehicle you are interested in online. Have a set price and stick with it. Sales people are eager to make the sale. Ask to test drive it overnight. I actually was allowed to test drive the Toyota Camry I purchased for 24 hours. This sealed the deal. If a sales person is pressuring you, leave. Who needs that?
Favorite driving memory
My favorite memory of driving in Fayetteville is actually getting on any road that will take me out of Fayetteville. Fayetteville, is the home to one of the largest Army bases in the United States. With that said, there is a huge population of young men and women from every state of our great nation. Unfortunately, young drivers tend not to be the most safe drivers and lack experience. When there is a huge transplant of people coming from all parts topography and terrain ( farmland, flat land, mountains, cities, rural, below sea level, above sea level, wet land, deserts, winter conditions, non-winter conditions etc.) Really effects the driving skills of individuals. Frankly, driving in Fayetteville is scary! I see two to three accidents daily on my short 3 mile commute to work. Drivers are impatient, risky, speed, tailgate, and forget them ever using a turn signal. As a safe drive, I am always on high alert which makes driving something I love, very stressful. So, my favorite memory is driving out of Fayetteville, passing the carless drivers, and leaving the stress behind. I love making the left hand turn onto route 87N and enjoying the traffic free leisure drive to any where.
Favorite road
Revere St. Revere Street is a small neighborhood road. It is on a hill and turning on and off of it can be dangerous. I know that doesn't sound pleasant but the key to the road is that there is a police precinct at the end of the street. This makes the carless drivers alert while driving on this crazy road because there is constant police presence. And trust me, they are not afraid to pull you over.
