Satisfied. Have purchased twice.
I absolutely love the Ford Explorer. I bought a brand new one in 2011 and really enjoyed driving it for close to 5 years. At that time, I thought I wanted something bigger and also wanted bucket seats in the second row, which my current Explorer did not have. I ended up buying a used Tahoe. I had that car for a little over a year before I decided that I really did not like it. It was a gas guzzler, and the door handle broke. My husband and I decided that the Ford Explorer was really what was best for our family. We bought a used one this time but with a higher package than my original. I also made sure that I got bucket seats in the second row this time.

Gets it done
We purchased our 2013 Ford Explorer xlt slightly used. We wanted the 2.0 turbo engine because of the gas mileage and the get up and go. Gas mileage has been great, been getting close to 23 miles per gallon. On a SUV, it's great! Room is enough for our family. We do recommend getting the captain seats in the rear seat if you have small children. It will make things way easier. We don't really use the third row, so it makes the cargo room way bigger. Having nice upgrades, like navigation, leather, back-up camera, heated seats and Ford sync system has made this vehicle great to own. Navigation had to be taken to dealer to be reset.
Also, the back-up camera has failed a few times but dealer fixed at no cost. Overall, we love our 2013 Ford Explorer. We've taken our 2013 Ford Explorer on several trips, and it has performed great. On long trips it gets great gas mileage, I think we got up to almost 28.

Great family car.
This car is the best family car that I have owned. The size is great, and I love that it has a third row to bring along extra friends. When the third row is folded down, there is a ton of storage space to easily stow a stroller, luggage, etc. There are great technology packages that are available, and for great pricing as well. The gas efficiency is great, especially for the size car it is. I have not had any mechanical problems with this Explorer or my prior one.

I hate to say bad things about dealerships and I wish I could say great things about them. They were terrible, I will never buy a vehicle from them again. They didn't help me out and my vehicle was supposed to come with all weather floor mats. When I called and asked for them, they told me they would get back to me and never did. I tried again and same story. I had some mechanical issues with my brand new car and had them take it in to be fixed and was told that the issues were that some battery cables were loose and the next thing you know, I am going out of town and get stranded a few states away. Very upset with them. The worst part is Ford didn't help either.
