Mitsubishi Outlander OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS

Not Satisfied
The quality of this vehicle is poor. The fabric on the seats frayed within 6 months of owning this brand new vehicle. I have also had electrical issues with this vehicle since 3 months after purchase; this includes Bluetooth connectivity and the buttons on the steering wheel not functioning. About 1 year after purchase, the fan motor stopped working for the air conditioning/heating system which I had to leave it at the dealer for over a day. The factory tires only last up to 30,000 miles which I think is a rip off and after 6 months of owning the vehicle they actually came apart and started leaking air which required a replacement. There have been so many recalls with this vehicle, at least one every year including the fan motor I had replaced and numerous belts in the engine. I do like how the vehicle looks, it has a very modern and unique front end and I love the color which is a graphite gray. It is not too big and has just enough space to function. Mechanically it runs okay. It makes strange noises but it still drives. I wish it got better fuel mileage and I think this vehicle was over-priced at $28,000.

Travel companion!
I bought my Outlander, used second-hand ten years after it was manufactured. I didn't really have any expectations for it, I just needed something in decent condition that I could afford to buy upfront. I absolutely love it and never thought I would be an SUV person. It currently has 189,000 miles on it, and I still drive it out of state on multiple occasions without any problems, the longest trip being from Pennsylvania to Florida and back.

Great Family Vehicle
We purchased this vehicle when we had a new baby and needed to accommodate a stroller and car seat on a regular basis. We traded in a new Mitsubishi Eclipse. My husband wasn't pleased with the change, but this vehicle has been a blessing for our family. We have, in the past, been able to fit both adults, the baby and our older daughter along with three of her friends in the vehicle. It's spacious enough for us to take on an extended vacation as well as comfortable to drive for a long period of time. I use this vehicle to get around town everyday and run errands or go to work and I like the gas mileage a lot. It came with a backup camera which was a huge upgrade for me and has made life a lot easier. It also had a great sound system installed which is nice for the rare occasions I leave the kids at home. We live in Florida, so it's very hot and the sun roof doesn't get tons of use, however it's a nice feature for the odd cool day. We also got the optional third row and if we had to do it again we would probably leave that out for the extra space provided in other models. (We wouldn't have fit all the teenagers without it though.)
My biggest complaint is the expense of the size of tire they chose to put on it. It's 3 times more than the last vehicle I owned. Other issues we have had is that installing the car seat in a rear-facing orientation has led to the seat being ruined by the baby's shoes. There was really nothing we could safely do to protect the seat and baby at the same time.
